If you know one of the people below or someone with a similarly impactful, world changing idea, you can help us find our next cohort of Mira Fellows. We’re looking for mid-career applicants with a proven track record, an undying need to sink their teeth deep into a specific problem, and the openness to reframe their assumptions to find a new solution. Nominate them and please pass on the opportunity.

In the Environment

  1. An urban planner tackling climate change by designing communities to be truly livable without cars.

  2. A sustainability manager who wants to rethink how companies integrate sustainability practices to their core values.

  3. A climate scientist with an innovative idea to help communities become carbon neutral.

  4. A scientist who wants to rethink the intersection of climate adaptability and racial justice.

  5. An urban planner with a proven plan to make cities carbon neutral through a combination of creating carbon sinks through planting and minimizing carbon emissions through technology and building practices.

In Education

  1. A former outdoor educator who has a vision for how to create a new school system where every student loves learning and is able to reach their full potential.

  2. An early childhood educator who has a plan for how to support parents through preschool so that every student enters kindergarten ready to learn and thrive.

  3. A computer science teacher from a community college who has a plan to develop a software program that helps employees identify exactly what they want and need to learn to continue to excel at their jobs and stay passionate about their work.

  4. A therapist who wants to reduce teen mental health issues by rethinking school support systems.

In Community Building

  1. An experienced Journalist who wants to rethink local news.

  2. A city council member who wants to rethink how we interface with local government.

  3. An elder care administrator who wants to rethink the last quarter of life.

  4. A political campaign manager who wants to rethink connecting with the electorate.

  5. A city planner who wants to rethink neighborhood centers.

  6. An executive director of a community non-profit who has a vision to create communities where mothers receive free community support and services while their children are under the age of 3.

  7. A law enforcement officer who wants to reframe gun violence and create a culture of community trust.
